Ronit Kanwar

Ronit is the Head of Strategy and Partnerships at Renaissance Philanthropy. In this role he builds strategic partnerships, launches new initiatives, and advances key priorities within the organization.

Prior to launching Renaissance, Ronit spent four years at Schmidt Futures, a philanthropic initiative of former Google CEO Eric Schmidt and Wendy Schmidt. As Director of Partnerships, Ronit: designed and launched signature partnerships with the UK Government on institutional innovation within science and on talent; incubated P150 (a community of philanthropic advisors to UHNWIs) which has unlocked $140M+ of philanthropic capital; and unlocked over $350M in co-funding. Ronit also led initiatives focused on COVID-19, US-India collaboration, talent, and financial innovation.

Before joining Schmidt Futures, Ronit co-founded Empower Energy, an award-winning last mile distribution network in India which provided rural communities with access to life-changing technologies such as solar lamps.

Ronit holds a BA in Economics and Management from the University of Oxford. He is a Forbes 30 Under 30 awardee and a Fellow of the Royal Society of the Arts.
