Meera Zassenhaus

Meera Zassenhaus is a fellow at Renaissance Philanthropy building out efforts related to food systems transformation, sustainable proteins, and food/ag abundance. She is also an emerging technology fellow at Horizon Institute for Public Service. Previously, Meera led communications and public affairs at Tufts University Center for Cellular Agriculture (TUCCA), an interdisciplinary center of excellence democratizing the scientific building blocks of cultivated meat, building a pipeline of talent and expertise, and fostering public trust in novel food technology. Prior to Tufts, Meera worked at New Harvest, a nonprofit field building organization that seeded research programs and coined the term “cellular agriculture." Meera holds a BS in philosophy and economics from Washington University in St. Louis.
