Ben Andrew

Fellow

Ben Andrew is a Fellow at Renaissance Philanthropy, where he is growing the philanthropic fund ecosystem.

Ben joined RenPhil after helping several organizations develop new models for R&D that maximize public benefit. Most recently, he worked on a seedling project for human molecular monitoring at Convergent Research. Prior to Convergent, Ben spent a handful of years scoping, launching, and managing BRAINSTORM—an eight-figure translational research program at the Carney Institute for Brain Science.

In previous lives, Ben conducted research in computational cognitive neuroscience, helped build a science-driven hydration startup as the first employee, and invested professionally at a multi-billion dollar hedge fund.

Ben graduated from the University of Virginia with concentrations in Mathematics, Physics, and Economics. He is an outdoor and endurance sports enthusiast, spending as much time as possible (trail) running, (mountain) biking, and (backcountry) skiing.
