Aleš Flídr

Manager

Aleš Flídr (pronounced Alesh Fleader) is the Manager of the Big if True Science (BiTS) Accelerator at Renaissance Philanthropy.

Aleš joined Renaissance Philanthropy after two years at Convergent Research leading the biosecurity program, managing technology roadmaps on clinical metagenomics for pandemic early warning and far-UVC for transmission suppression. Prior to Convergent, Aleš worked on science communications at DeepMind, as a research assistant to Eric Drexler and Jason Crawford, and Covid policy response in Czechia. Aleš also currently serves as president on the board of Panoplia Labs, a non-profit developing novel approaches to broad antivirals.

Aleš comes from Brno, Czechia. He received his A.B. in Economics from Harvard and MSc. In Economic History from Oxford. He enjoys hiking, amateur football and strategy board games. He has given up on making obscure Monty Python references but he always appreciates being on the receiving end.
