This is a 3-month contract for 5-10 hours/week, ideal for someone who enjoys structured work, has sharp attention to detail, and wants to contribute to a high-impact organization.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Draft and edit routine agreements using established templates, including MOUs, consulting agreements, grant agreements, and vendor agreements.

  • Review contracts for completeness, flagging missing fields, inconsistencies, or non-standard terms for legal review. Identify any potentially problematic areas for our 501c3 status.

  • Coordinate signature collection and track execution status across active agreements.

  • Maintain and organize the contract management system, ensuring documents are filed, labeled, and retrievable.

  • Help update and maintain contract templates as processes evolve.

  • Support staff on contracting process questions, routing requests to the appropriate reviewer, and tracking approvals.

Key Qualifications

  • 3+ years of paralegal, legal assistant, or contracts administration experience.

  • Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.

  • Comfortable working independently with minimal oversight in a fast-moving environment.

  • Familiarity with contract management or e-signature tools (e.g., DocuSign, Ironclad, or similar) preferred.

  • Experience in nonprofit or startup environments is a plus.

Values

You will thrive within our team if you:

  • Have strong mission and vision alignment: You believe in the power of science, innovation, and technology to create a brighter future for all.

  • Exhibit high agency: You can move mountains and break perceived constraints.

  • Inspire others and are highly collaborative: You can motivate others to join your mission and goals. You understand the value of going further by working with others.

  • Value exceptional talent and the power of networks: You can spot or nurture exceptional talent and believe in the value of building networks and the power law of talent.

  • Are comfortable working in fast-moving and ambitious teams: You are not afraid of ambiguity and enjoy working at pace.

The top candidates will bring their own unique perspectives, experiences, and backgrounds from a variety of industries along with many but not necessarily all the skills listed above.
